Sleek and modern in looks, and filled with diverse mod-Oz/international flavours, the Switch Lifestyle brand of restaurants are becoming a byword for cool, casual and convenient shopping centre dining in outer suburban Melbourne. It's easy to make the switch to Switch when considering the enticing cuisine these places serve up. Some of the highlights include Cajun chicken salad, garlic prawn and calamari linguini, Singapore noodles, Angus beef burger, and the many freshly baked cakes for dessert or a cheeky afternoon coffee 'n' cake catch-up.

great food here
I have dined at Switch Watergardens approx 10 times over the last 2 years & I have never had a disappointing meal. The food is always fresh & I have tried different menu items without a dud in that time. I have never felt that I have paid too much for anything either. Their Trio of dips is 2nd to none. I have tried this dish at other restaurants & have found them substandard compared. I also love the way they do the salt & pepper calimari, rather than rings or strips it looks to me to be a whole squid body. This dish has never been tough or rubbery. I recommend Switch over any other restaurant at watergardens

Dinner at Switch
This funky looking restaurant located across the way from Hogs Breath in Watergardens was actually a bit of a let down.
A friend and I visited the restaurant for dinner and ordered the following: ENTRE: cheese fritters (to share) MAINS: chicken breat (friend), lemon chicken (me) No dessert
The cheese fritters were delicious. Accompanied by a rocket salad that perfectly balanced the batter and oozy cheese. My tip, add a little more rocket salad to the dish to ensure you are not left with cheese fritters and no salad.
The mains were a shocker! My lemon chicken was soggy and very dry. Would have loved the batter to be crispy and the chicken to be a little more moist. It was like re-heated second rate chinese food. I would suggest leaving the lemon sauce in a small gravy jug and letting the consumer pour this over their chicken.
My mate didn't eat his chicken breast. It was completely baked to a hard rock that was so dry, he needed water to chew it!
Let's hope the mains improve here as there is probably a lot of potential in this restaurant. I may return, but probably only for an entre and a drink.
