Sweet Source Cafe Patisserie and Larder is owned by Zoi Condos, who trained in the art of pastry in New York. In a reversal of the usual cafe fare, savouries such as avocado and Boston beans on toast are an accessory to the sugary decadence, rather than the main event. Sweet source might have a corner location but it's no corner store - indoor and outdoor tables are packed with customers tucking into Zoi's delicious, pretty cookies, slices, scrolls, tea-cakes and cupcakes. The decor is a sugarholic's fantasy with gingerbread houses and ganache and marzipan extravaganzas gracing the windows, while a mouth-watering cookies-baking-in-the-oven smell emanates, making Sweet Source high art and homely all at once.

Sensational
I came here to meet with two old friends for a grils' catch-up brunch. It was absolutely perfect. The food was sublime; I had a hard time choosing what to have. An amazing mushroom tart stands out in my memory: home-made pastry with poppy-seeds, flavourful field mushroom filling with a hint of goats' cheese and thyme: amazing. As for dessert...normally we would buy one or two desserts to share, but we couldn't narrow the field so we got four.
The staff seemed slightly distracted, but very friendly and pleasant which makes up for almost anything in my book.
Highly recommended.
