Great for lovers of fresh and vibrant sushi rolls, Sushi Tengoku prides itself on delivering a quality product to discerning sushi connoisseurs. With all the emphasis here on the food, very little attention has been paid to the decor, though this doesn't detract from what locals proudly boast as some of Sydney's best sushi. With reasonable prices, all who enter the doors of this establishment know the importance of having a reservation; without one, hungry sushi lovers are likely to be turned away.

Ichiban giant size nigiri sushi
Went to this restaurant after hearing stories about how large the size of the nigiri sushi is here. Prior to going to this place, I did my homework and read some reviews so I made a booking before I went. I was glad that I did that as there was a sign on the door that said 'reservation only' at this restaurant. We got there nice and early at 5.30pm so I guess it was before it got too crowded. We got our food quite quickly and we were very happy with the food that we got. The nigiri sushi was very large and fish was very fresh. We also liked the agedashi tofu and tempura prawns. I like the fact that genmai tea, ice cream and drinks are self serve. Sometimes at other restaurants you wait for ages to get served, it's much easier to take it yourself. The only thing is the lack of air conditioning in this place, as far as I could see, there were only fans here. So if the temperature got any hotter it might start to get unbearable eating there. Definitely a restaurant I would revisit next time I got to Sydney even if I had to take a bus to get there from CBD.
