The prodigal son returns, with chef Shaun Presland (former chef at sushi e) coming back to the Merivale fold to head up Sushi Choo. Presland is a busy boy, also heading the kitchen at Ivy's other Japanese diner, Teppanyaki. As the name cutely suggests, this is a sushi-train restaurant, but with more glitz and glamour than you'll find at any of the city's lesser breed of sushi trains. Sushi chugs past on horseshoe-shaped marble platforms, while red wicker lanterns droop dramatically overhead and maneki neko (lucky cats) wave cheerily. The train displays Presland's exquisite sushi and sashimi, while an a la carte menu features such meals as beef carpaccio with yuzu pepper dressing; and thin slices of snapper with white soy, chives and sesame seeds.

Not worth the Value$$$$
Went there for lunch with a friend. This is what we had:
2 x green Tea $12.72 1 Beef Tataki $9.09 1 Snapper $9.09 1 Spider Hndrol $8.18 4 sushi plates $30.90
A total of $77.00
the meal was very unsatisfying. There wasn't alot of variety to choose from on the menu or on the train. The sushi sizes were small compared to other sushi restaurants in the city. Most ridiculous of all is that two green teas cost $12.72!!...
I really don't recommend anyone going here, unless you have alot of money to waste! The ambience was ok...same style as Ivy...but that was about it!..
