For a number of years, Sushi Bar Kai on King has been Newtown's pre-eminent place for high quality sushi and from the looks it doesn't look like losing the crown anytime soon.
If you know your sushi then it's immediately obvious that Kai on King is in a different league to your average sushi trains. The sushi chef here was trained in Japan and it certainly shows in the end product.
Like most truly dedicated Japanese eateries, the decor and ambience isn't given great importance, so don't expect plush surrounds. But chances are if you're here then you're here for the sublimely fresh seafood and not a fresh lick of paint.

Best sushi train in Newtown
The food is fresh and delicious. Very convenient, quick, good service. Love the octopus balls, shashimi and miso soup.
