Open for business crowds during the week, and City Recital Hall patrons on selected evenings, Surjit's Indian Restaurant is a fine choice for big banquets and light meals alike. Couched in Angel Place, Surjit's isn't your run-of-the-mill Indian eatery, since it specialises in Mughlai cuisine, an aromatic Indian and Pakistani cooking style that developed from the Persian-ruling Mughal Empire in the early 1500s. Accordingly, Surjit's offers a multitude of Mughlai and other South Indian tastes you can try, like the Hyderabadi biryani (a rice specialty featuring your choice of chicken, beef or lamb), or the Madrasi ghost curry (a hot coconut milk-infused curry).
