I'm sure the food would have been nice...
I attended dinner at Suree's tonight with two friends.
The atmosphere of the place was nice, the staff were pleasant when taking our order. we started with vegetarian spring rolls, which were filling and delicious.
My issue came later. I had ordered a dish requesting to have it without a minor ingredient (meat), which according to the menus was easy. It took a little longer for the food to come out than I would have liked, but it was starting to get busy so we relaxed. My companions' choices were brought out, and they seemed to be enjoying it. Mine came out soon after... with meat. I spoke to a waiter, and they promised it would be rectified. A further 10-15 minutes later the dish was brought out again... and again, it had meat. By this point, we had been at the restaurant for over an hour, and all I had eaten was half a spring roll. Both my companions had finished eating, so we decided to leave.
I understand that things get busy in the kitchen and mistakes are made. What I don't appreciate is when paying the bill being told that we wouldn't be paying for the pad thai because they "wouldn't have been able to make it" - this information would have been useful previously- and have the staff laughing about it. I was hungry, and they had made a mistake.
I'm sure the food would have been good... had they attempted to do it properly.
