Sumalee doesn't strike you as your typical Thai restaurant: ornate cast iron light fixtures and a gleaming espresso machine in the corner of the bar make it seem more a French bistro than Bangkok noodle house. But then, Sumalee is anything but your typical Thai joint.
For starters they do breakfast, and a damn fine one at that. The breakfast range covers most bases with the usual cafe fare, but don't overlook the Thai-style brekkie, featuring crispy fried eggs with chilli, cashews and spring onions.
As the sun starts to make its descent Sumalee switches to more classic Thai dishes, so expect classic curries and wok fry ups in ample supply if you head here anytime after noon.
