Sumac

Sumac is a spice widely used in Middle Eastern cooking and the name of this Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant in Darling Harbour. The sister venue to Balmain's Kazbah on Darling, Sumac offers the same contemporary twist on traditional favourites with such mouth-watering offerings as pan-fried duck breast with glazed dry figs; felafel and sweet potato chips; Berber mixed grill for two; and, of course, a classic tagine.

Move over Morocco
There is nowhere in Sydney like Sumac, in fact I'm sure that there's nowhere in Australia that does Middle Eastern/Moroccan food as good as this place.

I never imagined food could look and taste this good, and so unusal, and, well, so exotic! The staff were super nice and made us feel totally at home, and ensured our wine was topped up discreetly, but adequately.

Exquisite Taste, Mind-blowing value!
4 of us went to Sumac to farewell a friend who was travelling back to the States. By nights end he didn't want to leave... and either did we. We chose the Banquet Menu and stupidly ordered extra... Although the food was so beautiful we couldn't eat it all because there was so much of it. Not only is Sumac truly magnificent with creative fare, it's incredible value. And even if you're not the type to do it, you'll want to commend the Chef after eating there. I'll certainly be back!
