Within this historic multi-level building, there is no shortage of spaces to dine and unwind in, from rooms filled with plush old couches and moodily lit spaces to the bright retro-inspired decor of the bars, green ferns and a neat alfresco dining area.
Although there's a definite pub feel about this joint, the morning brekkies are surprisingly good, with star picks like the three-cheese omelette - with gruyere, smoked cheddar and mozzarella - and the simple and flavoursome bruschetta with lemon and thyme mushrooms, and Danish fetta on sourdough.
The menu also features a generous injection of vegetarian options, enticing enough to lure in the most dedicated carnivore. Wrap your tastebuds around the spinach and fetta cannelloni with cherry tomato and cream reduction; or the pumpkin pizza with caramelised onions, pine nuts and fetta.
As the sun goes down, the venue's sultry side takes over and a pre-dinner cocktail becomes an option too alluring to resist. The signature Devil's Elbow contains a nice kick, with its blend of red chilli, pineapple, vanilla, tequila and pineapple juice served in a vanilla sugar rimmed glass, thought there is also a range of classic concoctions available.
The modern Australia offerings range from a porterhouse steak to a tuna steak nicoise salad, with enough diversity to suit most tastes.
