A collective sigh of relief could be heard all across Perth when Stones opened its doors at North Perth and Canning Vale. Finally - real, fresh, good pizzas with thin, wholemeal bases (made with organic flour) and some truly innovative toppings. Stones is famous for its award-winning Coat of Arms pizza, with Margaret River smokey kangaroo and emu chorizo, rosemary roasted potato, sundried tomato, feta and spring onion on garlic butter. There are also some excellent seafood combinations (including The Bends, with mussels, tiger prawns, fish, squid, anchovies and cherry tomatoes) and plenty of vegetarian options (to which meat can be added) for those less keen on eating a national emblem.
