Set in a gorgeous stone cottage (hence the name) in SA's beautiful McLaren Vale, this cosy place has become something of an institution with visitors to the area, and even since the proliferation of wineries, cafes and restaurants has left diners in the region spoilt for choice, the Cottage is still catering to many wanting a quieter, more intimate dinner. The menu changes seasonally, the food is classic and traditional but never boring, and the service is friendly and accommodating. With wood fires and couples celebrating anniversary dinners, the atmosphere harks back to times gone by, as do the tapestries on the wall and charming courtyard.
