The serene Zen-like dining room of this Japanese restaurant acts as a counterbalance to the frenzied kitchen and crashing waters of the Pacific Ocean below. While you can perch at the sushi bar watching dishes being prepared with artistic precision, hosts Nobu and Yuki offer a Japanese dining experience that goes far beyond your average sushi roll. For a unique Japanese take on Australian coastal dining, try the seafood saka mushi, featuring scampi, pipis and calamari steamed with sake. Speaking of which, there are six sake varieties on the menu, so it will pays to pace yourself.

Disappointing experience
Never have I been to a restaurant where the service provided by the staff literally ruined the evening. Firstly, and forgivingly, we asked for two of our drinks and chopsticks to eat our entrees with twice. Our entrees had been at the table for at least 5 minutes before we were bought utensils and soy sauce. Secondly, my 4 fellow diners received their meals together, whilst I went and enquired about mine 20mins later only to be told it was on it's way. In another 20 mins, the food arrived, whilst everyone had long before finished and the waiter had tried to take two of their plates away! I expressed my disappointment surrounding the delay with my meal, only to be told that "we could have shared the other food while I was waiting?" Not your decision, love. Then this comment in a stern tone... "Well, we tried our best" and she grabbed empty glasses off the table and stormed back to the kitchen. I was no longer hungry as it was late and I was over it. Everyone had to sit and wait for me while I choked down my food in a hurry because we wanted to go. The bill for 5 people was still full price and we received no apology. I'm disgusted. There's too much competition on the coast to repeat this kind of behaviour, Stillwater.
