This pub stays true to its roots; they may have had a swish refurb and given the bistro menu a good update, but have thus far managed to steer clear of pretentious territory. With a staggering 11 beers on tap and a popular restaurant, the pub affectionately known as "The Packet" will enjoy a healthy patronage forevermore. Delicious items, such as the freshly baked cobb loaf, slow braised cottage beef pie and hearty chicken parma, have been given the thumbs up by the locals.

Beware the chicken parma
Just a warning....If you order the chicken parma make sure you are hungry. It was the size of my head honestly and filled the plate.Good but a bit dry in spots, maybe due to the size but I never made it into the middle..Where did they find that chicken?????? I liked the pub though, good for a group catchup.
