St Kilda Pier is a place locals hold dear to their hearts and tourists flock to see. Half a kilometre long, a relaxing stroll down its boards deserves the reward of the kiosk and Little Blue Cafe at the end. The kiosk had been an icon of Port Phillip Bay for almost 100 years until it tragically burnt down in 2003. The strong public reaction saw it being lovingly rebuilt soon after using the original 1904 plans and keeping its Edwardian charm intact.
Despite its idyllic location, Little Blue remains refreshingly casual and non-intimidating, reflecting the youthful vibrancy of St Kilda. It has unmatched views of the bay and Melbourne's stunning skyline, and you can even watch the blue penguins that inspired the restaurant's name frolicking nearby. The menu is based around fresh seafood, with dishes such as spaghetti with local black mussels, prawns and white fish featuring.

birthday voucher being used
As both of our birthdays are in August my husband's sister gave us a voucher for this restaurant. It entitled us to an entree each & a main course each. We drove from Narre Warren to St. Kilda in anticipation of a wonderful experience.. and I have to say this place exceeded my expectations!!! the scallop & chorizo entree was amazing, possibly the best scallops I have tasted! My main was the pork belly!! What can I say! Crisp & succulent, the meat just fell away, but the piece de resistance was the pickled prunes on top of the pork...They had a deep, sweet syrupy flavour which complimented the pork. My husband chose the "Catch of the day", which, on this day was Rockling. OMG what a wonderful dish this was. The fish was sweet & the batter had just the right amount of crunch. The accompanying chips were delightful... Crispy on the outside & soft & fluffy on the inside. Perfecto!! Our voucher didn't allow for desert,....but, I just had to have a peek at the menu. I chose the "Banana in your date", which was an exquisite flavour combination of ganache with banana flavoured icecream & jelly cubes. My husband chose "Russian Apple Pie" which was apple flavoured icecream with biscuit pieces & a whole shot of vodka, which you poured over the top. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience some really top quality food, & service with a great view. Would be fantastic in the summer sitting outside, whiling away the time in the sunshine...

Thrown out
We were having a lovely time for our work christmas party, the food was great, as was the service until we were told the bar was closing at 3:30ish in an effort to get rid of us and other christmas party bookings.
I understand its that time of year, but I think you need to be upfront with your customers and let them know when you plan on closing the bar prior to booking...Its christmas for christs sake and to cut a party short (for an apparent wedding to prepare for is absolute crap).
I recommended the place for christmas as I had dined before, but will never be recommending anyone or coming again!!!
