Taking over from the old Coolabar site, this spacious bar and restaurant has been reinvented as a modern and stylish space with exotic Asian influences. Owned and operated by Aaron and Kym-Sarah Ruttan, Spice Bar is a welcome addition to what was the slightly predictable Mooloolaba dining scene.
The modern fusion on show at this restaurant ranges from a Chinese-influenced take on the classic san choy bow to a Japanese gyoza. If you can be tempted away from the other options, try the confit pork belly with nashi pear and star anise puree, green beans and port wine jus to get a real taste of the east-meets-west going on in this kitchen.
