South Dowling Sandwiches has become something of an institution for Darlinghurst residents. It's not uncommon to see lines out the door of this unassuming, little corner diner.
The premise is fairly straightforward: choose your bread and choose what goes on it. It sounds simple, but SDS is a classic example of the finished product being greater than the sum of its parts (and the sandwiches being absolutely massive doesn't hurt, either). Toppings include old favourites such as chicken schnitzel and tandoori chicken with any number of salad ingredients. If you're feeling particularly decadent (and you're up to the task), add some herb potatoes and roasted carrots for that extra indulgence.
