Making more than adequate use of its luscious parkland setting, this sunny cafe in Roseville Park offers breakfast, lunch, and morning and afternoon tea fare, infused with French finesse and Modern Australian style. For garden dwellers and families with young ones, the outdoor seating provides ample room to bask in the sun while you let the kiddies romp in the playground. Impressively, Sous le Soleil taps into a bit of local history, set in the heritage Firs Estate Cottage, one of the oldest buildings in the local Ku-ring-gai Shire. The cuisine also has a dash of the old-fashioned, such as the classic pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) or the croque monsieur, a gratinated ham and gruyere cheese toasted sandwich. More modern fare can be found in dishes like the corn-fed chicken ballotine or the blue swimmer crab, salmon and eggplant terrine.
