Contrary to its name, this busy little Beaufort Street cafe offers far more than just a short, sharp caffeine fix to get you through the day. Perfectly positioned for people watching, and tastefully designed to create an ultra-relaxed vibe, Soto Espresso is the kind of cafe that lures you in to linger longer. Perhaps the best reason to stick around is the surprisingly extensive menu board, which flaunts a tasty array of 'doorstopper' sandwiches, crisp salads, wholesome soups, robust pies and delectable tarts. Start the day with poached eggs on a chunky slice of New Norcia sourdough, pop back for an oven-roasted vegetable, rare roast beef and caramelised onion sandwich at lunch time, and finish with a coffee and cake, or, if you're feeling particularly conscientious, a low calorie, mini Bakewell tart.

mmm I like
I came for breakfast on Sunday and at first couldn't get a seat, their tiny kitchen seemed to be pumping when I walked through the side door.My pancakes took 10 minutes to arrive which I thought was pretty good considering the large volume of customers that was lined up when I went to order. The girl at the till was friendly and fun and my pancakes were delicious! I will definately come back again can't wait to try the mushroom breakfast! good job guys ps your coffee rocks!!

disappointed
Soto used to be "the" place for breakfast in Mt Lawley. There is no passion in their food anymore. Its gone from being an awesome place to just plain average, bordering on poor. For $25 it represents poor value for money. Have now gone elsewhere after being a loyal Soto regular every Saturday and Sunday....such a shame.
Coffee is still good but service varies.
The place is in dire need of a scrub and makeover.

Why so slow?
This place does the best coffee along Beaufort St in my opinion. Only thing is, you might be waiting 15 minutes for a take-away latte. Sort it out guys!

Great
Great coffee, the best poached eggs I've had on sourdough. It's a busy place but if you can score a seat, you'll love it.

Nice coffee, could be faster
My latte was lovely, but it could have been delivered faster. The girl at the cash register was also delivering food to tables, therefore we had to stand and wait for the coffee.

First visit to Soto
Not very kid friendly. No fairy cakes for an after-ballet treat. Had the carrot cupcake which was good. Barista on Saturday morning makes a great latte.
