Argentineans love their meat and the menu at Sosta reflects this passion. Going home without a full stomach is not really an option, although vegetarians may struggle to dine with the amount of juicy-flesh celebration around them. Steaks vary in size and go up to a massive one-kilogram slab: this is strictly for people with stretchy tummies and loose pants. The rest would probably do well with the mixed grill (parrillada de carne) for two, which offers a taste of almost every type of animal on the menu.

Great client venue
Enjoyed fabulous steaks with clients yesterday at Sosta. Had heard mixed reviews but the chargrill on the steaks and the friendly and efficient service was second to none. $44 per steak is not cheap but to spoil some valued clients top notch!

Half a cow please
I recently dined at Sosta on the insistence of my fellow diner. Loved it guys!! 700 grams of beef with potatos. Ggrrrroowwllll. I left feeling like the caveman my decendents once were. My only criricism was that I asked for medium rare and got rare to blue and could not get the last of my meat off the bone. Our waiter was professional almost cocky, but he did the job required.

Not up to Rundle Street standard
Went to Sosta's for a friends birthday recently.
We had a table of 20 booked and a few people turned up late. However, it took them about an hour to come over and take a drink order. We then had to wait another half hour for the food menu's to even come out. For some reason they took orders from one table of 10 and then took a 15 minute break before taking the order of the other table of 10.
I needed to move from one table to another so that my friend and his wife (who arrived slightly late) could sit together and I asked the waitress if that would be a problem. She rudely replied with "well yes it actually is because we have a seating plan." When the meals came out the first table was served and the second table didnt get their meals until well after the first table had finished.
The waitress forgot to put my order through and apologized in an very insincere manner. By the time I got my meal everyone else was finished eating and ready to leave.

Not that impressed.....
Looking at the below reviews I guess we were not the only unsatisfied customers of Sosta. Normally we look up where to eat out when we go away, but we decided to wing it with this one. Menu looked appealing so we went in. The food ended up being very average. I ordered the porterhouse on the bone ($30ish), medium rare, although cooked well, it was quite chewy and the vegetable ratatouille it came with was bland. Also they charge you an extra $8 for the sauce! My husband ordered the goat which was also very dry and bland. As it was very hot and stuffy in there we ordered a bottle of sparkling water ($6 500ml) to cool down and accompany our red wine. I did accidentally spill a glass of wine and the staff were however very fast at cleaning it up and replacing our table cloth with minimum of fuss. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall food was average, very expensive for what you got, would not recommend or return.

surprisingly disappointed
Food: Reasonable... However meat was tough and it was hard to cut through it let alone chew on it.. Fairly bland
Service: Disapointed. Got slugged $12 for bottled water while everyone else around us got your average 'water for the table'poured from a jug - Would have liked to be told. Food took FOREVER to come out.. They blamed it on us asking for a steak 'well done'... Does that usually take 45 mins AFTER entrees had been eaten and dishes cleared??
Atmosphere: Nice place but very stuffy, one window wouldn't open and air conditioner was spitting water at us - Mentioned to staff which did nothing about it. They also recently had renovations done...
Likely to return: No Likely to recommend: Reluctantly

Disappointed?
Everything was lovely, I had the mussles for entree, the fillet steak for main, my table shared the salad and pots and I had the churros for dessert - cooked perfectly. My cocktails were fantastic, the service was truly outstanding. The poor girl serving me was like all of them controlling a function of 30 people upstairs, may not be a lot but it is tricky to manover your time between seperate levels, trust me I know.
Sostas was an amazing restaurant, my only regret is not being from Adelaide I won't be able to revisit for a long time.

Disappointed
The food was fantastic - my duck dish as main was wonderful, cooked to perfection and as per the menu description, and the remainder of the table agreeing the food was great. The disappointment was the service and atmosphere. We were stuck down the back of the restaurant next to the kitchen entrance. No one asked us for drinks at any time, we had to ask if someone would take our drinks order, and throughout the night they ignored empty glasses and thirsty patrons, and they were not that busy at this time. A general lack of hospitality which is a shame for such great food.

Beware
Great food, very plentiful. Quite a noisy buzzy atmosphere, the staff are very friendly. This place is quite pricey. $30 for a steak, $7 extra for a sauce, $10 for a salad. But the big shock is they charge you 3% for using your credit card.
