Soda

Bright, casual and as effervescent as the name implies, Soda embraces the inevitably laidback vibe of their beachside (within throwing distance of the surf) location, while still managing to amp up the food and service to a more upmarket standard. Open from 7am, early risers are met with a satisfying menu of brekkie favourites, from pancakes with lemon butter to a full fry-up. The popular talents of chef/co-owner Ben Andrijasevich appear most strikingly in the lunch and dinner menu. His myriad influences and passions are displayed in such intriguing dishes as the soft shell crab with sticky rice and nori salad, or the chicken and pancetta with a potato cake, tomato, bocconcini and basil pesto. Alternatively, for a relaxed afternoon snack overlooking the water, tuck into one of the share platters over a bottle of cool, crisp wine.

Good All Rounder
I love breakfast and I was determined to find somewhere nice to spend my first breakfast in Perth, so after a recommendation from the waiter at the restaurant the night before I headed out for a nice drive to find the Soda.
On arrival I was not disappointed, as I scored a rock star car park out the front and the view of the sea was breathtaking....
The menu had a good range to cover all tastes, I enjoyed the pancakes with berry compote and triple cream and my husband had his eggs benedict with fresh O.J.
All in all the cafe was a good all rounder, the service was friendly, the food was good, but the view was awesome, which is what I was hoping for, as a visitor to W.A.

Service?
This place is in the best location. Really sad that the service has been so bad every time I have been.

Divine food
I went here with friends on a Sunday night. The atmosphere was ok, a little dry but not too bad. The service is also far from perfect. However, the food was so divine that I barely noticed the shortcomings.

It has a really good sized menu with lots of yum choices - something for everyone. I had the scallops as an entree and snapper for my main. The dishes were simple, delicious and presented perfectly. My friends had a range of other dishes, trying lots of things from the menu. All of us were incredibly impressed with every dish.

I was surprised at how delightful this place was. I will most definitely be coming back and I recommend you try it!

Stunning presentation!
The location is great, just opposite North Beach. Having booked ahead, we had a table inside but by the window (it can get pretty windy and cold even on a bright day!). The atmosphere was noisy, buzzing and fun - 12.30 on a Sunday, it was packed! Clearly a local haunt, kept on the lowdown.

The service was pretty poor, our waiter having forgotten drinks several times and not advising us of proper waiting times. That said, each dish is so decoratively constructed, so indescribably beautiful in presentation that I was prepared to disregard service.

I had the special braise which was beef cheek and I love a place that does a good beef cheek and well! Looking around at all the satisfied customers, it seemed you couldn't possibly choose a wrong dish; there were so many happy faces. The menu is interesting and surprising, offering Spanish churros for dessert! Such an absolute delight.

I was completely blown away by this little eatery! Again sometime soon, soon to be a summer favourite I'm sure.
