Sloaney Pony

In a building built in the 1860s, what was once the Fountain Inn is now the Sloaney Pony, a modern restaurant and bar with old world charm. Food on offer includes the amusements (bar menu), the grazing and lunch menus, the modern European restaurant menu and canapes for private functions. And be wary of those seedy Sundays, friends may just make you 'get back on the horse' with Sunday cocktails. But chill out, no matter how hungover you are, you can always look forward to the all-day brunch and Sunday roast.

Generally good but I wouldn't go back for a meal, maybe for drinks.
There was nothing particularly bad about this, in fact it was quite nice. There just wasn't anything particularly awesome. The venue is beautiful and it's a great place for drinks. But meal-wise, it was a bit overpriced for what is really just polished upper-class pub food. I've had much more amazing meals for the grand total of our bill here.

The best time
Kicked back with cocktails and beers in bar and had a great night. The bar was buzzing, great atmosphere and our waitress was great and so bubbly, the staff really made the night. Ate some great tapas, didn't even know they did tapas, but I will definitely be a regular!

Go the Pony
Great food, friendly and attentive service and a bottle of good bubbly - what more can I say than we had a fantastic dinner a the Sloaney Pony. We ate in the restaurant, in a cute and cosy little booth and enjoyed the great jazz live music from the lounge bar. finished off with a couple of cracker cocktails. Fun fun fun - defiantly going back!

Possibly the worst meal I've ever eaten!
OK so a group of 6 of us go there for a mid week feed. One of us is late to arrive so we would like to order some food to tide us over. Oh no. According to the waitress "we can't order entrees unless we are ordering mains". No exceptions. Was this because the kitchen was flat out? I suggest not seeing as though we were the only ones in the place!! Oh and the meals when they did come out ..... OK. And I mean OK. Think big white plate and small portion. Hardly worth the $95 a head we paid (yep! the bill was $570 for 6 of us!!) Will never go back. I don't mind paying top price when the food and service justify it but for crying out loud!!

Gotta go back
Wonderful, delightful and attentive floor staff.
One major criticism was that most food dishes were too salty.
Superb presentation though.
Two minor things: I had to climb into my seat - which was kind of fun! And the main was served too soon after the entree.
