Cloistered away from the humid trade winds of tropical Cairns, this supremely elegant hotel restaurant is an air-conditioned respite from the hot sun, as well as a rewarding fanfare of fine food, from buffet breakfasts to a la carte dinners. Adjunct to the hotel lobby and bar, Sirocco Restaurant embraces the lush rainforest atrium positioned in the courtyard, offering glimpses of green for patrons inside, and the scent of nature for outdoor diners.
Formerly Atriums Restaurant, Sirocco's revamped dinner menu displays a top-notch blend of Mediterranean and modern Australian flavours, with a killer seafood buffet available on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. The a la carte menu however, may prove too tempting to overlook, with offerings such as the 400gm Barcoo steak on the bone with peppercorn sauce or red wine jus with layered potato, and for dessert, the warm double choc fudge with macerated berries and ice cream. Topping it off is an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list, which can also be enjoyed from the cosy couches at the bar.
