Sirens Restaurant and Bistro

Fancy a sea change? Or maybe just lunch opposite the Pearl Bay courthouse? A few hours at Sirens Restaurant and Bistro on beautiful Williamstown beach will make you feel as though you've had a holiday in its large, modern beach-house setting. Drop onto a lounge or take a stool at the bar at the bistro area for a casual soiree, or indulge in a romantic a la carte affair in the restaurant section. Keeping with the romantic theme, a range of oysters and oyster shooters (Oyster Bloody Mary, anyone?) are on offer at both the restaurant and bistro, as well as pan-seared calamari, chargrilled swordfish, pan-roasted Atlantic salmon and even a chicken and chorizo paella on this Mediterranean-tinged internationally flavoured menu.

Disappointing
We went for dinner and were very disppointed. It was not terrible just not value for money. Entrees and mains are not worth waht you pay. Fish and chips for $28 should be damn good but was seriously underwhelming, and the advertised "wedges" looked like oven cooked frozen chips. My pasta may well have come out of a supermarket packet. The location is great, and the wine list is good, and there may be good value things on the menu but we won't be going back unless we hear spectacular things about it in the future. Our money is better spent elsewhere.

Try as I might...
I've eaten at Sirens half a dozen times since moving to the area from Elwood six months ago. Try as I might to fault this place, I simply can't! Every experience has been memorable - varied menu, really good selection of "specials", reasonable wine list and always friendly & prompt service, which has warranted a generous tip on every dining occasion. Our recent visit included menu items such as garlic wood fired pizza, pan seared calamari, scallops w Ouzu in puff pastry, porterhouse steak (the melt-in-your-mouth kind) and barramundi fillet - all cooked to perfection. My dining companion enjoyed the Siren's experience immensely and we both agreed we'd like to go back again soon...and not just for the wonderful food and stunning views but especially for the Toblerone Chocolate Cake, which we still haven't stopped talking about! Give it a go, Sirens IS worth a visit and one of the better casual dining establishments in the area.

Overpriced and underdelivered
Fantastic position but so often this place under delivers for the price !!! The quality is not a $30+ meal. To add salt to the wound, portion sizes were a little light on.
This spot is best visited on a hot day for a glass of wine / bottle beer and some dips to enjoy the beach view. Past that I wouldn't bother again (that is my 3rd try ....)

Attitude Attitude Attitude
After hearing so much about this place, I was excited to visit. I must say I have to say my dog would receive better service at a kennel. The food was ok, good size portions, well presented and tasty, but the service, and "manager" of the day prob could do with some ettiquite lessons. I would rather donate my money to the life saving people as apposed to give it to them again.

I expected a little more
I went out for dinner and I thought that the place lacked in atmosphere, the service was not bad and the food was nice except for the scotch fillet which was very bland. It had no sauce and seasoning, and was served with lettuce and slices of raw mushrooms.
