Singapore House


Several things greet you as you walk into Frewville's latest South-East Asian eating house: the British colonial decor, the fragrant smell of mingling exotic spices and the 600-odd moth and butterfly species adorning the walls.

A not-so-living testament to the origin of the different cuisines that intertwine at Singapore House, each one of the Lepidoptera specimens hanging serenely on the walls hails from the same places as the dishes on the menu.

Fans of Singapore house's sister restaurant, British India, will not be surprised by the bold statement of the decor, but what may still provide some gasps is the geographic meandering of the menu. From peanut chicken satay and nonya-style curry mee to a chilli crab or salt and pepper squid, the menu takes cues from all corners of South-East Asia.
