This eatery ticks off all the qualities treasured in a suburban bistro, and then some. The crispness of the white linen fluttering in the breeze speaks of the restaurant's slant towards the finer end of casual dining, but the friendly service and crowd-pleasing food indicate that Simple Pleasures does not take itself too seriously. The welcome addition of a bar serving cool cocktails shows that the restaurateurs behind this venture know what people really want in a local.
The modern European menu includes plenty of light and fresh dishes to suit the steamy climate, but also features some rich Euro cuisine, such as the crispy skin spatchcock with turnip and Tallegio gratin, sugar snaps and lemon thyme.
