An unassuming corner eatery, this restaurant provides authentic Portuguese home-style cooking. Of course there's the ever popular charcoal chicken, served with vegetable rice and chips, and it's hard to forget the sharp steel skewer threaded with steak cubes and suspended threateningly above your table, but true to the owners' tradition, the real specialty here is seafood. Try their grilled sardines, or the creamy bacalao (salt cod). If you don't have time to dine in, Silvas also offers a brisk takeaway option with burgers, salads, charcoal chicken and charcoal pork available.

Sydney's Best Garlic Prawns!
My first date with my fiance was at Silvas. I have been going there for a number of years. She fell in love with this place and it has been our special place since. You will not meet nicer people than the staff at Silvas. Brendan & Stephen are 2 of the nicest guys you will ever meet. The food is always fresh and the garlic prawns are sydney's best. Do yourself a favour and go there. Make sure you book early because if you think that you can just walk in on a Friday or Saturday night you better check under your pillow because the tooth fairy may have left you some cash :)
