The smaller, more intimate version of its South Yarra sister, Prahran's Silom Thai offers up the same much-loved menu without the crowds. And what a menu it is. With close to 70 dishes on offer, even fussy eaters should be well catered for. In addition, all dishes are MSG- and wheat-free, and many vegetarian options are available.
The pick of the entrees is kai hor, chicken fillets wrapped in pandan leaves and deep fried, followed closely by the crisp dumplings of taro, chicken and Chinese mushrooms. For mains, tuck in to a classic masaman curry or try one of the many seafood dishes on offer, such as the unique prawns with macadamia nuts and oyster sauce.
