Disappointing!
We popped into the Sicilian on a Sunday for lunch (granted the Eagles were playing mid afternoon so the restaurant was a little busier than normal but still less than 1/2 full). We were disappointed because it took more than 20 minutes to have our order taken, which was only prompted when we went to the counter to ask if someone could serve us. Then it took a further 40 minutes before our food arrived which again was prompted by us asking the waiter to check where the food was. We were only a table for two, so the order wasn't a large one. The food when it came was stodgy (risotto) and greasy (calamari). Given the poor food and service it wasn't really good value for money with main at $29. I hadn't been to the Sicilian for years because I wasn't impressed last time. I hoped it had changed, but unfortunately it hadn't.

Give them a go!
I thought I'd leave an honest review for this place because I feel they deserve it after the service we received there lately. I recently "took the plunge" (even after reading some of the negative reviews about this restaurant) and decided to try them out for Valentines day dinner.

Actually, as I work nearby, I had eaten here on and off for the past few months on their $10 Tuesday special lunch days and I thought the food and service was fairly acceptable so I took my fiancee along to enjoy Valentine's day dinner recently and I'm happy to report we were not disappointed...

We arrived slightly ahead of time (just after 7 pm when our booking was for 7.30) and they gladly accepted us early. The place wasn't packed for Valentine's day, but it wasn't exactly deserted either.

We decided to go the ala carte menu and ordered garlic prawns for the entree to start us off. It was a good dish, there was quite a few prawns thrown in (12) and the prawns themselves were crunchy but not overly so, and of generous size. The prawns came accompanied with a nice salad with a tasty, creamy, dressing that went down a treat.

For mains I ordered the rib eye steak and my partner ordered the cannelloni. The mains took a little while to come out but they were worth the wait in the end. The serving sizes were massive and I could hardly finish mine - same story with my partner too. The rib eye was laid out over my plate and took up most of it. Nestled under the steak was a salad and some mash potato which was OK, not exactly smooth and creamy, but still fresh and tasty. The steak was very tender (I ordered it cooked "medium") and not tough or rubbery at all.

I thought it should be mentioned that the waiter that was looking after us actually had the politeness and etiquette to bring out our cutlery rested atop our napkins and went to pains to make sure he didn't actually touch the cutlery as he laid it atop our table resting on the napkins. I thought it was a nice touch anyhow.

To all those considering this restaurant, definitely give it a try...I've yet to experience any particularly negative service from them and still eat out there on Tuesdays for work lunches every so often. Their pizzas are quite generously-sized, too.

NO service
I went to have lunch with a few colleagues today and I have never experienced such bad service! First of all, they advertise lunch time specials of pizza and pasta for $10-15 but when I asked for the specials menu the waitress informed me it was only Ala carte or buffet. After waiting for 10 minutes my colleague goes up to the bar to let the waiter know we are ready to order. We are informed that someone will be with us shortly...after waiting another 10 minutes I approach the bar to see if anyone will be able to take our order and the waitress throws her hands in the air at me and rudely says 'we will get your order when we get to it'. I have NEVER been spoken to this way before, especially in a restaurant. I refuse to eat there ever again and as we leave the restaurant, the waitress comes to us, doesnt even apologise for being rude and says 'no, dont want to order?'

Worst Service Ever!
Well, it started before we even got to the restaurant - I booked for eight people and was left a voicemail to confirm the booking and a day later received a phone call to say they were fully booked (?)

Once we arrived and were seated we waited fifteen minutes before approaching the counter to ask for some glasses for our wine (it was a birthday celebration and we had champagne to celebrate :) We were then told that the BYO does not extend to Friday or Saturday nights and it (apparently) states this on the website (if anyone can find it please let me know).

After asking them where it stated this and could they show me the waiter walked off and another waiter came back five minutes later with the same story. She then walked away and it was another 15 minutes before we again approached the counter to ask if we could order drinks.

We placed the food order at the same time (having gotten tired of the waiting) and then proceeded to wait yet again for the drinks to be bought to the table.

What topped off the service was the way the food arrived at the table. The starters were arriving before the (long awaited and much needed) drinks had begun to trickle to the table and the clearing of the plates was just as comical. A couple of the lads had finished the starters, their plates had been cleared and suddenly the mains start arriving; no rest between courses despite the obvious talent at leaving people waiting. We actually sent back the first main they bought out as most of us were still eating our starters(this was then the last main to be bought to our table).

Eventually we had all been served and some of the food was even delicious but after we had finished eating the waiting started again....20 minutes to clear the table of all dishes (the place was only half full).

At this point we all decided to cut our losses and spend our money elsewhere.

I will NEVER eat here again and I will tell anyone who ask's not to go here too - the service is beyond bad and you could never consider it a nice meal out - I wish we had walked out at the beginning and gone elsewhere.

Worst Food Ever
A group of 5 of us went in for a Friday night dinner and it was unexpectedly empty, especially compared to all the other bustling Subiaco restaurants nearby. The service was relatively poor but we were all looking forward to the food coming out. We had the chorizos for an entree and they weren't bad. The mains came out quite quickly after the entree was finished and we were extremely horrified by the finished product of the cooking. The penne arrabiata was terrible. The carbonara was gluggy and getting gluggier by the second, and the pizza was floppy and burnt at the same time. None of us even came close to finishing our meals. We left the place unsatisfied and over $100 worse off. None of us will be going back for a second experience.

Sicilian Subiaco
A few friends and I went to the Sicilian in Subiaco prior to going to the International Footy game at the Subi oval. We only had about 45 minutes for our meal prior to the start of the game. When we told the manager that we only had a short time for the meal she assured us that she will make sure we get served promptly. We all ordered an entree and a main meal each. The main meals varied from steak to pasta and pizza. We were very impressed with the prompt attention we received from the time we arrived to the time we left the restaurant. The meals were absolutely delicious and the service was even better. We were able to order beers prior to the meal and was treated to a classy bottle of eed which was reccommended to us by the manager. It was $40.00 well spent. We were all so impressed with the whole experience and the speed in which we were all served. We will be back.

Sicilian Subiaco
I went to dinner with a large group on a quiet Saturday night. The service was good, but what ruined the night was paying $35.00 for 4 lamb cutlets and cold, lumpy mash potato! This left a worse taste in my mouth than my insipid meal. I wont go back there again. It used to be good, but now it is not.

Worst experience ever
Me and my girlfriend had a Saturday dinner the and the restaurant was pretty empty so right there we should have listened to the alarm bells going off in our heads but we went in anyway and got seated at a table in the restaurant. 20 minutes after beeing seated and no one had arrived to take our order yet (not even drinks) my girlfriend went down to the bar to ask for someone to please take our order. The same thing happened to a table close to us about 30 minutes later. After that great start we ordered a garlic bread as a starter and then I ordered the prosciutto funghi pizza and my girlfriend ordered the lasagne which sounded really good on the menu. I asked the waiter if it was real prosciutto or just ordinary ham but he said that it was real prosciutto. To our surprise our main meals came out before the starter and when I pointed this out the waitress offered to take our mains and keep them heated while we had our starter! And to top if off the ham on my pizza was NOT prosciutto, it was regular ham in piles on the pizza and when I pointed this out to our waiter he went away and asked the pizza chef who confirmed that it was prosciutto. Seriously I've been to Italy more than 10 times, I live in Europe and trust me that it was not prosciutto.
The rest of the pizza was good but the lasagne was cold in the middle and didn't taste that good at all.
We got our garlic bread 10 minutes after the rest of our food and of course when we asked to pay we got charged for everything including the garlic bread and not a single appology or nothing. Over $50 for a terrible meal. We've both long experience from working in 5 star restaurants and this was the worst dinner experience and service we've had so far in Perth and we've been living here for a year now.

Sicilian Subiaco
I went there for a dinner. The food quality was well below that you would expect from a restaurant with pasta undercooked, mashed potato being very lumpy, the list goes on. The atmosphere was non existent although it was a Sunday evening with very few clientele dining. The quietness was all the more noticeable with the surounding restaurants appearing to be bustling.

A Valentine's meal to forget
After forking out a hefty sum for two fixed menu 3 course meals, we were bitterly disappointed with our meals. After receiving oysters as entree which had fragments of shell throughout them, we then experienced sub standard mains. My girlfriend received crab fettuccine which consisted of small unshelled crab legs tossed through pasta, which she had to de shell by hand, and I a charred steak cooked much past what I had ordered, being medium rare.

Sicilian Subiaco
I went there for dinner on a Saturday night which wasn't extremely busy for a Saturday night.
I wasn't at all impressed with the service we received. It was like we had been forgotten since the moment we walked in the door and sat at our table.
We had to continuously grab the waiter to serve us our entree and our main meals. Once we had finished our main meals, our plates were left on our table for about 30 mins before we had to get the waiter's attention again. (In the meantime, a group of 4 that walked in after as had eaten and left, to which the waiter reset the whole table before taking our plates). After receiving the dessert menu, we grabbed a waiter AGAIN to order our desserts, the waiter then said "hasn't anyone told you?" When I queried what the waiter meant I was told that only one of the desserts were available as they had run out.
Overall I feel that this was the worst service I have ever received.

Went here a few weeks ago with some friends and family for the first time and loved it! The service was great especially for the amount of people that were there and the food was some of the best I've ever tasted. I could not be more impressed with the Sicilian and find it hard to see how it can get any bad reviews?

Sicilian Restaurant
This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. They forgot to serve the main course and served the "sweet" course before it. We asked for a glass of water each and after an hour had to ask again when we were given a half glass each of tepid tap water for which we were charged $5. The service was dreadful and the food worse. This was a "Valentines Day" dinner which was a disaster.

I'm not one who usually writes bad reviews about restaurants (I'm more the take it on the chin, give bad reviews by word of mouth type) but the service at this restaurant was so bad that I had to write one.

Despite being almost empty on a Friday night (everywhere else was packed) it took just under an hour for our meals to come (some incorrect). When making a complaint while paying at the end of the night they seemed so used to complaints that they were indifferent and demanded we pay the full amount, including $5 per 1L bottle of water (x2) that we did not ask for.

I would like to commend the Sicilian restaurant, for the excellent service we received. My friends and I were on a time limit, as we had to get to a show at the Regal. The restaurant was full so we expected a delay, but the waiter quickly brought out our entrees, and kept us informed on the progress of our mains. He was attentive to us, and topped up our drinks regularly. For such a big restaurant that was full on the night I would like to congratulate them on their speedy, efficient teamwork.

I went for dinner on a date and was not impressed at all with the place. I was served the incorrect meal. The waiter didn't apologise and walked off annnoyed. He then returned with the correct meal and didn't say a thing!! They then billed us for three main meals when we only had two. They easily cancelled it off but there was no care factor or apology for any of the inconvenience at all and it wasn't even busy as it was 9.30pm.
