The old real estate adage of "Location, location, location!" certainly rings true for this popular eatery on Townville's thriving tourist strip. Those opting for alfresco dining on the tiled balcony of Shores Bar Restaurant can gaze across the lush green grass, past the palm trees and out onto the white-sand beach while they munch on their modern Aussie fare. The menu reveals a varied offering: there are entrees along the lines of duck ravioli, roasted sweet potato salad and seafood chowder, but it's the crumbed lamb brains (complete with crispy pancetta, lime and parsley butter sauce) that stand out in the line-up. For the main event, there's a mixture of pork, beef, chicken, fish and a vegetarian risotto option with a trio of mushrooms, but the chicken vermouth with honey and English mustard sauce and green salad looks particularly mouth-watering. Whatever you choose can be enjoyed in the restaurant's relaxed environment. As well as its indoor and outdoor tables, it also has a chill-out area where visitors can sip coffee and get stuck into a local magazine. Shores also plays host to live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights along with Sunday afternoon, putting the finishing touches on its air of beach-side relaxation.
