For an interactive dining experience, the best place to sit is at the counter at Shiranui, where the sushi chef will feed you interesting and delicious sushi combinations until are reluctantly compelled to stop. This feast of delicate morsels comes complete with entertainment, as sushi chef Hiro Nishikura employs knives and blowtorches in a dramatic display of culinary prowess. For a more comfortable seat (albeit without the personal entertainment), take a table and tuck into chef Yuki Ueno's steaming hot pots and Japanese-style meat dishes. Whatever one orders, the flavours at this streamlined restaurant are diverse and clean and the integrity of the produce is exceptional.

fantastic food!
This is one of our favourite japanese restaurants in the burbs.
The food - We went for lunch and had amazingly fresh fish/sashimi/sushi/beef & rice/fish head. We also enjoyed complementary side dishes with the set lunch menus which included a perfectly silky chawanmushi. The japanese tea was also excellent.
service - it was average, not impressive but no problems
atmosphere - everything's clean and bright, we didn't sit at the sushi bar but could still what the sushi chefs were making. it's a lot of fun!

Absolutely sublime~!
Being a sushi lover, Shira Nui was an absolute treat for me. Each bite trancended me to another world, while sushi chef Hiro would serve me another 2 nigiri-zushis ranging from seared salmon spiced beautifully to asparagus with spicy cod roe, with perfectly cooked asparagus. Chef Hiro will nudge a simple soy sauce or no soy sauce comment to guide your way through the dinner (or lunch). All the fish was extremely fresh and the chef gave us a treat of salmon belly and it made my week.
