The heritage facade conceals a vividly decorated Asian eatery, with electric-pink walls and bright yellow Chinese lanterns. The extensive menu also offers simple, Eastern cooking with a variety of meat and vegetable stir-fries, seafood and soup dishes. The shredded jellyfish and radish makes for an interesting entree, while the Chinese-style squid with plum sauce is generously proportioned for its $13.80 price tag.

What the?
Just tried to make a booking for 16 for dinner, despite admitting they have plenty of room that night they said they don't like seating that many at once (quote - "no it's too hard" followed by a giggle) and refused to book us in even though they admitted there were no other bookings in yet! Very strange indeed, they just lost our (rather lucrative) business. Very disappointed.

Don't come here during peak dinner service!
I have been to Shanghai Village a total of 2 times. Each time a different experience, but both with a group of friends of up to 8 people. The first dining experience was quite pleasant, as we were seated downstairs with the interesting pink walls and our meals were delivered to us quite promptly - this was a Thursday dinner service mind you.
I organised a group dinner there last night (Friday), but this time we were seated upstairs in their function area which is much more stark, which didn't really bother me, but what did bother me was the fact that we arrived by 6:30 and had placed our orders by 6:50 and all of our meals took until 8pm to arrive. I had to spend about an hour hassling 4 different waiters multiple times, only to have them bring our dishes one at a time with a lapse of about 15 minutes between each. The meals, nothing special and nothing which I couldn't have gotten at Shanghai Dumpling House within a matter of 15 minutes. Unpleasant and and unsatisfactory.
Only consider going here during times when they're not busy.

Great value, great experience!
Went there with a party of 12 people on Chinese New Year (i.e. incredibly busy, long queue). We booked ahead and had a great time. Very friendly service and for 12 people the meal cost $80 and we couldn't finish all the food! All up, including drinks came to $135 which I rounded up to $150 for tip. Highly recommended.
