Following in her ancestors' footsteps, Sensations' owner and chef Suzanne Evans has traded the school classroom for the kitchen to pursue her greatest passion - cooking. Using family recipes passed down through the generations and adding her own experimentations, Suzanne has developed a unique style of gourmet honest-to-goodness cooking, where the focus is very much on healthy eating and quality ingredients. Everything, except the bread and bagels, is prepared and cooked on the premises.
Most of the dishes displayed in the counter cabinet are gluten-free, including the breads, cakes and even the crepes and vegetarian lasagne. She is also dabbling in wheat-free, dairy-free, oil-free and reduced-sugar varieties, and is never too precious to share her secrets with enquiring customers. She even displays some of the gluten-free ingredients she's sourced in the cafe for you to buy. And in keeping with the home-cooking theme, Suzanne has collected an impressive array of Australian eclectic furnishings to give the place that lived-in feeling. In fact, it's so homely you could almost be forgiven for wandering down there in your slippers.
