If you're unfamiliar with a sweet lamb tagine or a voodoo vegetable curry, Semo's Modern Moroccan Cuisine is here to educate - and satiate - your palate. Chef Semo M'Souli is the right person for the job, given his extensive experience as a chef working in his homeland of Morocco, the Middle East, Spain and Oz, with a previous tenure at Sydney's Hilton Hotel. Since 2002, Mooloolaba has embraced M'Souli's Moroccan feasts, becoming a family-friendly favourite and a no-brainer for guests at the Mantra Resort, where Semo's sits.
For a bit of everything, the mezza plate for two makes for a good starter, featuring char-grilled chicken, vegies, chicken pastries, dips, rice and breads. Choosing from the wide range of salads, char-grills, tagines, curries and desserts might take a bit longer, moving between hot, mild, tangy and sweet, like the flame-grilled harissa prawns, the African beef curry or the enticingly named Love Cake of spices, cashew nuts, almonds, ginger preserve and ice cream.
