A stylish cafe with a slick interior, this Mordialloc local is not just a pretty face. It puts an emphasis on organic and free-range produce, so the coffee is organic and fair trade; the food local, clean and fresh; and the menu served with a healthy dose of social conscience.
The breakfast options include popular goodies ranging from the healthy (like the biodynamic brown rice brekkie of warmed brown rice cooked in coconut milk and served with fruit compote and nuts) to the not-so-healthy (see: French toast with bacon, bananas and maple syrup). On Friday nights, the cafe stays open late for tapas and wine and also has a mains dinner menu if you need something a little more substantial. The theme is mostly traditional Spanish with some Middle Eastern flavours thrown in for good measure; the falafel balls with yoghurt dip mingle with the grilled chorizo sausage accompanied by Spanish onion and capsicum.
