After more than 15 years on the block, Sean's is something of an institution. There's a real seaside charm to this sunny little restaurant with its funky kitsch decor and relaxed, boho vibe. The menu is scrawled across blackboards and seasonal, although favourites such as blue swimmer crab (floured, fried and served with aioli) are always around. The food, though unpretentious and simple, is sensational, thanks in part to the importance chef Sean Moran places on great produce and in part to the sheer talent of the man. The comforting, cosy restaurant has proved its worth over many years of hard work - a rarity among Bondi's showiness and love of fads.

My first dinner experience at Sean Panorama
Been living in Bondi for about 15 years I finally made it to Sean Panorama....really excited about it. We rushed to be on time before the kitchen closes...and we waited 20 mins for a glass of water, another 15 mins for some bread and finally got the entree almost an hour after arriving! It took 3 hours to reach dessert. I liked the degustation menu although I can't see what's all the fuss is about this restaurant. When considering the prices and the service I can think of a lot of other places where I rather be. I wouldn't blame solely the waiters as part of the wait - beside water and bread- was also after food coming out of the kitchen. Seems to me like this place needs to rethink their delivery of food.

Difficult to fault
I had a very different experience to the other reviews on this site. I went to Sean's for lunch with my Mum (a very picky woman who hates trying new places) on a Saturday. When we entered we were given the choice of a couple of tables, when seated a wine list and water was delivered immediately. Shortly after we were asked if we needed any help with the wine list, then we were taken through the menu in detail and all of our questions were answered, bread and olive oil appeared we spent the next couple of hours chatting away happily, politely interruped when our meals came and went. I can not fault the service (even when the restaurant filled up), nor the food which was nothing short of fantastic.
The lunch was all-in-all fantastic - even Mum was happy!

Skye Gyngell at Sean's Panaroma Over Hyped
We went to Sean's last night with much anticipation after all the hype around the swap between Sean Moran and Skye Gyngell. Although the food was pretty good but nothing out of this world the service was probably the worst I have experienced in recent memory. Having to ask for a wine list, menus and to order not only entree/main but also dessert is pretty appalling at a restaurant of this calibre. Additionally the staff were so casual about the service it made you feel like you were dining at a friends house and they were doing you a favour serving you. All very strange considering the $40+ price tag for a main and really not deserving of all the people queueing to get in. I cant wait till Sean gets back and it hopefully returns to the high class establishment it always was.

Extremely disappointed
I have been to Sean's a number of times, all of which have been great experiences... While the food and the flavours cannot be faulted, the service was possibly one of the worst I have encountered to date, of any restaurant - from those which are hatted, to my local Thai restaurant.
We waited and waited for our table - in fact despite our reservation, they did not seat us until 1.5 hours after the time we had scheduled.
