Scuzzi Cafe North Adelaide

The smell of pizzas permeates the air at Scuzzi, and the vino flows from large carafes. There is a good selection of Italian favourites as well as some scrumptious desserts.

Good food, good service, good atmosphere
After a negative experience at another local cafe, our group wandered into Scuzzi where we were seated by friendly staff. Food was good basic Italian dishes, generous portions and they served our whole group together. A great place for Friday night after work. We will be going back!

Really disappointed
Had been to this place before and was looking forward to it again. Took 8 friends there and I left totally embarrassed. The prices were way over what the food was worth. My chicken parmigiana was $19.50. It was overcooked with a drizzle of tomato sauce and a bit of grilled cheese, served with a tablespoon of potato salad. The schnitzel was thin and dry and cut in half as one side had a very obvious straight edge to it. It was so small it would have fit in the palm of any average 10 year old.

Diverse Daily Specials
Being first-timers at Scuzzi, we (partner and me) walked into the cafe (more like a pub) and were waiting to be seated. We smiled and made eye contact with a few staff who had seemed to walked straight passed by. Nevertheless, we were hinted by one of the customers to order and pay for food and drinks at the bar and to take a seat where ever we wanted.

Atmostphere - More pub like, than a cafe. Diverse and friendly local clientele. Good place to get together with friends and catch up.

Service - depends on who you get: the waitress who looked after us seemed unattentive and slightly tired? The bar person was ok. The barista knew what she was doing.

Food - great daily specials. My partner ordered a great dish linguini with a mixture of seafood in napoletana sauce. I ordered the perch fillet wrapped in foil with gourmet lettuce for $24 - beautiful tastes, but a very disappointingly sized fillet. It was cut too thin and slightly overcooked - 1cm thick and with 0.5cm stuck to the foil. I found myself scraping the last bit of fish. The gourmet lettuce were a conservative size, with a third served under the foil - cooked lettuce.

All in all, a good place to go catch up, relax and eat good food.
