If you're feeling like your life just isn't Rastafarian enough, then perhaps this is the place you've been searching for. Sassy's Jamaican Kitchen pulls no punches, not even with its name. (Funnily enough, it is a Jamaican kitchen owned by a guy named Sassy.)
Sassy's is built on the self-fulfilling prophesy that everything Jamaicans do is inherently cool, and from what we can see it's hard to disagree with the theory. Mismatched salt and pepper shakers shaped like fruit or buxom women may seem kitsch, but pair them with some soft reggae, a few palm leaves and the Caribbean drawl of your host and it all just works. The result is a place that looks somewhat like an ad for Jamaican tourism but tastes just like the real thing.
