We were extremely disappointed with this restaurant. The service was very slow and the waiter rude and unhelpful. There were 8 in our party and all agreed that the food was below average. Would not recommend!

Good value Italian Food
Prelude: I have been a regular diner at santinos for over 7 years. Throughout the years I have tried the vast majority of offerings on Lygon St, but this is the one place I always come back to.
Food: authentic Italian food. Nothing too flash, however every dish is balanced perfectly. My favorite is Fetticine con Pollo or then 'Rialto' if you have a big appetite.
Service: Friendly and prompt.
Ambience: Sitting on the balcony (upstairs) on a warm summer's night is an exceptional way to spend a few hours. In winter, I prefer downstairs near the open fireplace (aside: once a buring log ended up near my foot which was promptly attended to by the waiters).

I have been enjoying fine food and excellent service at Santinos about once a month for the past five years. On the rare occasion that I have tried an alternative establishment on the Lygon Street strip, I'm inevitably disappointed and vow not to do it again. Going to Santinos for a meal is akin to going to your best friend's house for a meal. Recommended without reservation!
