Sarcasm, The lowest form of wit!!!!
On a balmy evening, we arrived at Sante Fe (the only place at the marina with a spare table.) We were told it was waitress service. Our first drinks arrived promptly. We collected our own menus. I asked at the same time as our first drinks order if they had any dessert for our 5 year old. "I don't know, I'll ask," we were told by the waitress. Fifteen minutes later I approached the bar to ask if we could order our food as no one had been back to us. They said we'll come over. At the same time we ordered another beer. Fifteen mins later, no beer! We went to the bar and the girl told us she was too young to serve us!!!! No one came over so I went into restaurant, sense of humour starting to fade! Sarcastic comments from one of the waiters who seemed to be unaware of the pressures on the waitress. We gave an ultimatum. Food in 10 minutes or we are going. Miraculously, food and ice cream appeared. We went to pay bill with the idea that due to crap service, good food, we probably won't come here again. Let's just pay up and go! Then all of a sudden, sarcastic waiter became aggressive, saying that there wasn't a problem with service, making out it was down to us! (At no time had any one approached us to appologise) He may think his humour can win over customers, but with no appology or empathy along with poor service, sarcastic humour doesn't travel well! We live at the marina and frequent many bars and restaurants there. Sante Fe, adios!!!

crazy chefs
Unless your group of people is so loud to be able to ignore the chefs, I would not recommend coming to this restuarant. My parter and myself went there for lunch and were seated right by the window. I must say the waitresses were excellent in their service and there was a new staff member who was doing really well. Unfortunately the kitchen staff ruined our day out due to their horrible language and yellying at staff. We waited 50 min for two salads and the restuarant was not even 1/2 full. For most of the time one of the chefs was on his mobile phone cooking out of uniform and the remaining time was spent swearing. Why do they have an open kitchen if their worst asset in open for everyone to view?

As a waitress myself I understand the pressures in hospitality but even in my worst job have never been treated with so much disresepct as those poor waitresses were.

The food was ok and the price quite reasonable. However if I found out that there are new chefs I would go again!

Mexican Mayhem!!!
Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone - they seated our party of 7 right at the back of the restaurant close to the kitchen (even though it wasn't that busy). The waiting staff were really nice and prompt in taking our orders although we did wait a little while for our drinks. Half the table’s food arrived and 20 mins later the rest still hadn't. Throughout the meal we were treated to a tirade of foul language from the chef shouting at the waiting on staff even though there were children present within feet of him. Everyone else on the table finished their meal and after 40 minutes we decided we could wait no longer. We did ask to speak to a manager but were told there wasn't one on duty. The waitress did apologise but it really wasn't her fault, other people did seem to be having the same problem (the kitchen staff obviously need to prioritise their orders) and even if the service was just a one-off the food that we did get wasn't that great.

It's a real shame because the restaurant itself is in a really great spot and if you can bag an outside table on a nice day you'd have a lovely view.
