Proving that Lygon Street isn't the only place you can go for hearty Italian food, genial service and a lively atmosphere, Sammy's Trattoria Bar & Pizzeria fits the bill quite nicely on Sydney Road. The bright yellow, red and cream interiors establish a warm and casual setting you can soak up while opening that first bottle of white. The menu is traditional Italian all the way, from antipasto entrees to pastas and risottos to seafood and steak offerings, and of course, the generous pizzas (the gourmet ones are still Italian, like the goat's cheese pizza and the calzone).
