Situated on one of the busiest corners of Darwin's CBD, Salvatore's is never short of customers popping in for breakfast or brunch, all the way through to dinner. The interior is sleekly modern with a white tiled floor, furnished with wooden chairs and tables, and accented with shiny steel. Large windows look out onto the street, making it an ideal spot for diners to prop up their chins and lazily watch the world go by. The crew behind the counter don't take such luxuries though; the service is fast and efficient and the staff are friendly and eager to please.
Salvatore's serves a full cafe menu, including salads, pasta, pizza, steaks and an all-day breakfast menu. The salads here are particularly good, with the menu claiming their caesar salad to be "Darwin famous". The warm beef salad, which comes with thinly sliced scotch fillet served on a bed of mixed lettuce, tomato, roasted capsicum and avocado and served with a sweet capsicum dressing, is also a tasty choice.
Coffee drinkers flock here and swear by it for their caffeine fix. Though you're welcome to come here for your plain old skinny cappuccino, they also have some more exotic caffeine choices. If you're feeling indulgent, try a caffe latte royale served with whipped cream and a cherry on top, or perhaps a French vanilla latte. Top it off with something sweet from the range of cakes, pastries and tarts, which are displayed provocatively in the cake fridge.

excellent brunch
I met my friend for brunch. I ordered the classic omlette which arrived cooked to perfection and served with toasted foccacia. My friend had a slice of the fresly baked carrot cake from the cabinet. All the cakes and sweet treats looked delicious. Great coffee, local newspapers to browse through. Very busy cafe with a pleasant atmosphere, good for people watching if you sit by the window. Mostly local people eating here on this day. I recommend Salvatores.

Let down
Have tried this cafe a number of times and it is frankly a let down. Taxi drivers have often recommended it, but I can't imagine why. I have occassionally had good coffee and breakfast there but today was a let down. Their main problem is the service or lack of it and the evenings are worse.
