For a taste of truly Tasmanian cuisine, this waterside restaurant and bar shows off Hobart's fine array of local produce, especially in the seafood department. From smoked salmon to oysters, if it's from the nearby ocean, it's been adopted by the Salamanca Inn Beef & Seafood Grill. As its name suggests, there's more to this hotel eatery than just seafood. Indeed, it would be hard to ignore a Volcano 400gm T-bone steak if it landed on your table, so it's no wonder that this dish is one of the Salamanca Inn's favourites (topped with king prawns, red pepper and garlic cream sauce with beer-battered fries and optional chilli-cano). Even the dessert menu embraces the Tassie theme, including a selection of locally made cheeses and special gelato.
