The Best Thai Restaurant EVER - yum
My bf and I went here for dinner last night. We shared satay chicken and spring rolls for entree, red curry chicken and jungle curry (beef) for mains. All the food was really really nice and delicious and all the staff are so pleasant and helpful. I don't know how they do it but they memorise what you order without writing anything down and we got exactly what we ordered. A tip though, the front of the restaurant seems quieter than the back of the restuarant, it can get a bit busy later on in the night.

Great but green curry disappointing
We had been wanting to go to Sala Thai for quite some time and finally got around to it on Saturday night. I had previously read the reviews on here and this certainly encouraged me to make the trip there, even though it's not local for us. The restaurant is easy to get to and ample parking available on the street. We ordered soup for entrees, which arrived within an appropriate amount of time (not too quickly so as to feel like you are being rushed). We both enjoyed our soup and felt that the sizing was appropriate for entree dish.

We ordered the red curry chicken and green curry chicken. My husband has tried many red curries from various establishments as this is one of his faves. I asked him how it compared to others, and he just said it's pretty good, tastes nice, but not better than others he had tasted. I was disappointed with my green curry because I expected it to be quite spicy, being a green curry, and it wasn't. It was very mild, and certainly not the authentic green curry I expected from a place that apparently serves meals like you would get in Thailand. I can say that it was tasty, and certainly not a bad meal experience, and the serving sizes were very generous.

I would probably go here again because the atmosphere of the place is lovely and cosy, and there is plenty of space for bigger group bookings. The service is also excellent, our wine being poured by the waiter promptly, water jug replaced without asking, and meals arriving in good time.

I would however try a different main menu dish, and see how it goes from there.

Best Thai in Freo and good value...
We have tried a few Thai restaurants around Freo, by far this is the best we have tried. We went on a quiet night (Monday) and was very busy, so I think that says it all. A must try!

Freo's best Thai
After hearing great things about Sala Thai, I took my folks here for dinner on a Sunday night of a long weekend to test it out. I was thoroughly impressed.

Walking in without a booking on a busy night, the staff were welcoming and accommodating.

I ordered the Thai beef salad whilst my folks ordered a red beef curry and thai green curry to share. All three dishes were served piping hot and had a pleasant balance of heat and spices.

It's not necessarily a place to linger as the staff did tend to hover, but overall a very pleasant experience. Definitely a recommendation.

Try it for yourself
Well this is my favourite restaurant, I have been to Thai restaurants all around Aussie and this by far the best. All the relatives from UK get a visit there everytime they come here and they love it just as much as we do. Five star for sure, a must try.

A new fave
My wife has been a few times, but we went last night and had a fantastic meal. The food was delicious. It's not easy to get in so book early. Definitely recommended.

This is one of our favourite restaurants. The food is fantastic and everyone we've recommended it to, has just loved it. We always ask the staff to select a menu for us, and we've always been delighted with everything. The whole fish on our last visit was brilliant. It's always booked out, so you need to book in advance.
