Always good
I've been going to Sails for years. Its one of those restaurants where I can expect great friendly service and I can order anything from the menu and love it! I have never been disappointed.

I've only eaten at the al a carte restaurant and not the cafe. The food at the al a carte restaurant is great- good flavours, well cooked and well presented. The waiters know the food on the menu well and provide good service expected from such a restaurant. And the view is great too.

I will be back again and again!

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here. I had a dozen oysters to start with which was very fresh & for the main, I had the steamed snapper & it was the best fish I have had in years!! It was tender (but not falling apart tender) & really tasty. My husband had the salmon which was really good as well. The service was fantastic! When they found out it was our anniversary, they brought dessert out with a white chocolate slate with "Happy Anniversary" on it. We had our dessert while watching the sun set. Perfect evening!

Don't bother.....
This place is perfectly located on the waterfront. The dining room in the restaurant is gorgeous.

The food is so mediocre, so disspointing. It lacked flavour & quality that a fine dining restaurant should have. The food also lacked freshness and some components of the dish had clearly been frozen.

The service was so poor, the waiter had an I don't care attitude.

I can get past poor service, but if the food is no good there is no point.

Very dissapointing dining experience. Such a shame as this place is perfectly located.

Enticing cafe!
I have dined at Sails many times, in the cafe as well as the main dining room.
Apart from the breathtaking view, I really enjoyed the friendly service, the relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food each and every time I go there.
I do not agree with the above comment as I know for a fact that the portions are fairly large in the cafe.
To my understanding this area is designed as a casual part and as such has self ordering service which reflects on the price of the food.
If you want to have fine dining which includes being served you have to be prepared to pay for it.
Keep up the good work, Sails on the Bay!

Disappointing cafe
Though the view was nice from the Sails Cafe our Sunday breakfast/lunch was disappointing for the price. The food was nothing special, my partner had a burger and the meat was completely bland, and my breakfast came with one tiny piece of toast - when I ordered another I had to pay for it. Although there were plenty of staff around we had to go up to the bar to order.
