The Sail and Anchor is a Freo landmark, standing the test of time and constantly evolving. This grand old Federation-era pub, formerly the Freemasons Hotel, brews its own beer and presents a great wine list. Accompanying these beverage beauties is a menu of above-average pub grub covering tapas plates, salads, burgers, grills, pastas, pizzas and the good old chicken parmigiana. Choice picks include the local Fremantle mussels, the vegetarian, chicken or prawn Asian stir-fries, or for the patriotically minded, a big plate of kangaroo fillets. Nibble away in one of the many stylishly furnished rooms, including the saucy and exotic Red Room bar, the cosily intimate lounge bar and the lush alfresco courtyard for the sultry summer months.

Ddelicious squid
Looking for a light meal we had only a couple of entrees. The first, spring rolls I would only rate as 2 stars, however the salt and pepper squid with salad was cruchy, tasty, fresh and generous and more than made up for the other choice. The beer here is of course excellent and went fabulously with the salty fried squid morsels.
