Potentially an Oasis in the Desert of Moroccan Food
A cold Sunday night with a desire to taste something new to the palate was the motivation to try Sahara @ the Republic. I googled reviews and they seemed mixed however sounded interesting enough to give it a try. Started with mix entree, which was a great way to get the taste buds happening. I had the Harrisa flavoured char grilled Barramundi on a bed of beautifully flavoured couscous as a main. My guests had a mix of spicy sausage with Harrisa and chickpea dip. The food was extremely well prepared and presented. The taste was exquisite. I would certainly give Sahara another go. The food s that good. Word of advice call and check they take cards and has wine to purchase on-premises.

Valentines dinner
The food was terrible and over priced, If you're a vegetarian don't go here! It was $2 couscous with a carrot and a potato for dinner and they charged us $70 for a 3 course dinner.

Moroccan wedding feast
We had our wedding feast at Sahara and it was perfect. The staff made it a very special day. The food was just exquisite and impressive that they were able to cater for 60 people and not have the food quality go down.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Belly dancing was the best I've ever seen. We felt welcomed and looked after - as if we were family. Everyone had a great time.
I'd recommend this place as one of the best restaurants in Sydney. I found it on the internet so it was a bit of a gamble booking before we'd tried it but it definitely was the right choice.

Sahara ... a touchdown!
Great food in a romantic environment. The atmosphere was fantastic. It's interesting that some residents also joined the restaurant's patrons by dining out from their balconies. Sahara feast and lamb were very yummy. We sure will come back again.

A morrocan delight
Following a recent dining experience at the sahara I must say the food was exceptional, not only in flavour but also in presentation as well. The salads were crispy fresh, the dessert was also just as incredible, tiramisu is a must try, its to die for. A great restaurant to dine with a group of friends, so you can try the variety of dishes on offer. The prices are also reasonable.

The best Moroccan chef by far
To me the most important part of dining out is the quality of the meal. I have to say this is the best Moroccan chef I have ever come across. The food was absolutely superb. I even ended up meeting the chef, and having a chat with him - I was so much impressed with the way the food tasted. Coupled with a great service it is a place that I will recommend to anyone, and will be visiting a lot more. I only wish it was a warmer day, so that I could have enjoyed the food outside in the courtyard.

Lamb at Sahara!
We followed Mike's advice and went to Sahara at the Republic to taste lamb. It was something, the best lamb we ever have. You have to try it! Food is really Moroccan and cooked by real Moroccan chef. The ambience is amazing, the food (and I'm a very picky eater) was outstanding! I highly recommend this restaurant for a date or a large group. I went with my parents, brother and we had a blast. I'd have to say it's one of the best meals we've ever had together!
