Best Restaurant In Canberra.
Fantastic Food, My partner and i are regular diners here. we have come to eat here for a romantic night, birthdays, drinks & dinner with my family. The staff are always friendly, Polite & Welcoming and cannot do enough to accomodate us.
The Food - OMG THE FOOD!!! Its AMAZING!!!! Try the Crispy Skin Salmon or the Kafta and you wont be disappointed. Each time we go to Saffron i try something different and it becomes my new favourite.
There is not one thing i can fault with Saffon and love it more and more each time. If you dont try this place your really missing out on a unforgettable dining experience.

nice little find
On a cold a rainy evening, my partner & I wanted to eat out somewhere different. Saffron had been mentioned by friends and we wanted to see for ourselves what they were like. Despite being mid-week, they were fairly full and had a buzz of contented people. We started with a cocktail before ordering and found the menu to be interesting, but didn't 'wow' us for being unique or having a stand-out dish. The food was none the less enjoyable and well made. The dining area may be set to look to have aspirations of fine dining - and feels nice to be in, though the food was a more homely style. It tasted really nicem but just without the presetation that you may want from a really good restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and knew what they were doing. So we had a good night out in Manuka. I do think that the prices suggest a higher standard of cuisine. I would still be happy to come back and hope to enjoy it as much the next time.

Great meal , fantastic staff
We booked at short notice for two. We were seated imeadiatley wine and a cocktail while looking at the menu. Decided on the Banquet for two, what a great choice this turned out to be. Loved the food, staff were great fun. Best mushrooms I've ever had!

Good first-time experience
Had a birthday dinner with my partner on a Sunday where the restaurant was half-full and even with only 2 staff on the floor the service was good.
We had the scallop and mushroom entrees, and they were fantastico! The mains were triple-fin tuna and the signature lamb cutlets. Though they were very well-seasoned it was a little overcooked to our liking. We ended up swapping plates as the lamb was a little too tough for my partner.
Saffron pear as dessert certainly ended the night on a high note, even though we were a little annoyed by the group of 7 next to us putting the noise one level too high.
Highly recommended and would definitely visit again!

eating in Manuka
I had dinner in Manuka and wanted something different. Saffron was okay, it just wasn't quite great. We were made to feel at home and the food came to us eventually, which was overall nice, but I was hoping for something a little more unique. I think that they're heading the right direction, they just need to challenge themselves with the menu and the decor. Most people I think would like this place for a casual dinner. They have a good location though, which is really convenient.

Bland
I was disappointed with Saffron after being prompted to dine there by the glowing reviews on this post.
The food was bland and boring. I could have done better in my own kitchen without greek heritage. They definitely need to spice it up.

My all time favourite
This has been our third trip to Saffron this year and once again my wife and I are extremely satisfied. We started with a mezze plate for 2 followed by eye fillet steak and a snapper baked in tahini sauce. The meals were outstanding. the wine list is extensive and well priced. Our friendly waitress helped us select a great bottle of wine that went with our food perfectly. All in all we had a terrific evening and we will definitely be back.

Disappointed first timers
We were first timers from Sydney, staying at the Bentley Apartments, Manuka. Walked up to the village 80% of restaurants we full and we needed to book prior, found this one with not many in, so let's give it a whirl. The scallops were overcooked (entree). The mains: fish with mild chilli was red hot chilli. The fillet steak was sandwich steak and well overcooked when rare was asked for. After attempting to catch the eye of the staff we expressed our dissatisfaction and to their credit they did offer a free cup of coffee.

Simply superb
Don't judge a book by its cover with Saffron. The venue is rarely full to capacity and it probably won't appeal to the average punter from the street. However once inside diners will experience an enthusiastic level of personal service, great food and a quality atmosphere which is enhanced by the restaurant manager (and I assume owner's) personal attention to detail, suberb recommendations and sensational wine matching abilities.

My favourite.
This is our "special occasion" restaurant, because we know the food will always be excellent, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Even on occasions such as Valentines Day when there is a set menu, you know you will always get quality.
