Warm earthy tones and woody furnishings lend this tastefully updated 19th-century pub a cosy yet contemporary vibe. This spot is a local affair in every sense - just watch the place pack out when their beloved Balmain Tigers play and jugs prices drop. The upmarket bistro, while not inspiring, does some superb pub grub. Lunchtime favourites include the meatball roll on crusty bread with tomato, provolone and rocket; and the slow-cooked pot pie with mash. They also have a small selection of freshly made pizzas and a handful of lip-smacking share dishes.
