On the outskirts of Sydney's 'Thainatown', Saap Thai serves up quality homestyle Thai that's refreshingly authentic. Expect to find dishes you won't see at the typical stir-fry, such as grilled pork neck salad, fried rice with salted fish, or tom yum salmon's head soup. Som tum (green papaya salad) fans are highly rewarded with an astonishing 11 versions of the dish, including som tum talay (with prawns, calamari and mussels), som tum barbecue pork, and som tum with preserved eggs. For those less eager to experiment, there are plenty of curries, noodles and stir-fries to satisfy while you beat the heat with a refreshing coconut or palm juice.
